Governance and Policies
The Post Rock District aligns youth development programming, including 4-H at the district and county levels, with the current best practices, policies and expectations of Kansas 4-H and K-State Research and Extension (KSRE).
Visit www.kansas4-h.org/resources/ to access policy information from Kansas 4-H.
Post Rock District has expectations and policies to promote consistency and validity of the local unit’s comprehensive 4-H Youth Development program in Jewell, Lincoln, Mitchell, Osborne, and Smith Counties. While there are aspects of each county-level program that are unique, the Governing Board recognizes the responsibility to have a strong district-wide, local unit program. They are reviewed annually by the Post Rock District Governing Board at a regular business meeting, or more frequently if determined necessary by the Board. Feedback from District Staff, 4-H Councils, and 4-H Clubs will be taken into consideration when presented in writing to the District Director.
If you have questions, contact your local Post Rock District office.
CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS
Each 4-H Club and 4-H Council needs to have a current constitution and bylaws. These should be reviewed annually, and updated if needed.
The current constitution and bylaws of the official club/group are to be on file with the local Post Rock District office by November 1 of the current year. If there are no changes from last year, notify the office.
If you do not have these documents, contact a Post Rock District office and we will assist you with getting them in place. We have samples that can be adapted by your group.
